Privacy Policy

The short version

OutrSPACE is a family command center. With your permission, we read connected email and calendar data to find events, school reminders, and order confirmations, and we can create calendar entries after you approve them. We never sell your data. You can disconnect a service at any time and delete your account from Settings.

Google user data (Limited Use)

OutrSPACE's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • We request read-only Gmail and Google Calendar access solely to find family events, school requests, and order confirmations and turn them into calendar entries, tasks, and approvals inside your household.
  • We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as needed to provide these features, for security, or to comply with the law.
  • We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
  • Human review of Google user data only happens with your explicit permission (for example, when you ask support to look at a specific scan), for security, or where required by law.
  • Message content used for extraction is processed transiently; we keep only the extracted event, order, or task details, plus a scan log you can clear at any time. Disconnecting the account in Space → Connections deletes the stored credential.

What we collect

  • Account information. Your name and email address when you sign in with Apple, Google, or email/password. We use this to identify you across devices and household members.
  • Family profiles. Names, ages, interests, and photos you add for each family member during onboarding or in Profiles. Kids' profiles require a parent's consent before they are created.
  • Email and calendar data. When you connect Gmail or Outlook, OutrSPACE uses OAuth and requests the permissions shown by that provider. Google access is read-only. An iCloud calendar connection works differently: you provide an Apple app-specific password, which OutrSPACE encrypts at rest and uses for CalDAV access. If calendar push is enabled, OutrSPACE reads upcoming entries and can create calendar events after an approved action; iCloud access is therefore not entirely OAuth-based or read-only. We do not ask for or store your normal Apple ID password, and you can disconnect the integration at any time.
  • Location data. When an adult explicitly enables location sharing, OutrSPACE stores one current GPS position for that adult to show the household map and calculate ETAs. Each new position replaces the last; we do not retain location history or trails. Only adult household members can see shared locations, kid accounts cannot, and turning sharing off removes the current position.
  • Usage data. We log errors and aggregate usage metrics (e.g., number of scans run) to improve the app. We do not track individual content you view.

How we use your data

  • To display your family's calendar, chores, orders, and tasks in the app.
  • To send you notifications about upcoming events, due chores, and deliveries.
  • To generate AI-powered suggestions (morning briefings, meal plans, trip ideas).
  • To share family state across household members you invite.
  • To maintain and improve the service.

Children's privacy

OutrSPACE is designed for families. A parent or legal guardian must provide consent before a child under 13 is added as a family member. When you add a child during onboarding or invite a kid to your household, you confirm that you are the parent or guardian and that you consent to the child's use of OutrSPACE. Kid profiles have restricted access — they can only see their own chores, rewards, and profile, and cannot access orders, settings, or account management.

Data sharing

We do not sell or rent your data. We share data only with:

  • Service providers we use to operate the app (e.g., our database host, AI provider, payment processor). These providers process data on our behalf under contract and do not use it for their own purposes.
  • Your household members — only the data you choose to share within a household you create and invite people to.
  • Legal authorities if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. Account deletion removes your auth record, personal profile, connection credentials, subscriptions, scans, and other user-linked records. A sole owner's household and its associated mail, workflows, profiles, tasks, events, settings, and approvals are deleted with the account. If other signed-in members share a household you own, OutrSPACE requires you to transfer ownership first so their shared data is not erased without warning. In a household that remains, deletion removes your membership and auth identifiers, erases your personal profile details, and clears your user ID from shared audit records; neutral shared history may remain for the other household members. Disconnecting an integration stops future access and deletes its stored credential.

Your rights

  • Access — view the data we hold about you.
  • Delete — erase your account and user-linked data from Settings; household owners may need to transfer a shared household first.
  • Disconnect — revoke access to any email, calendar, or store at any time.
  • Export — request a copy of your data.
  • Correct — update your profile or household information at any time.

Security

Connection credentials are encrypted at rest. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Row-level security policies ensure each household member can only access their own household's data. The service-role key used for account deletion is never exposed to the client.
